1980: That Was the Wargaming Year That Was!

Quarterdeck Game Company was founded by Jack Greene and released its first title, Iron Bottom Sound.

Avalon Hill began publishing computer games in 1980, and Russell Sipe founded Computer Gaming World magazine out of his garage in Anaheim, California.
