Modern Naval
Battles II Errata20.1
The chart graphic inserted into the rules should have the "Civilian Escort vs.
Raid" box shaded. Also, the sample Mission Table in 20.1 should have the
"Even" 3-5 roll and "NATO Edge" 6 roll shaded as a priority mission.
20.3.2
On line #4, the word "purchases" is misspelled.
Also, optionally, purchasing cards and ships may be done in secret, if desired. If there
is a shortage of certain action cards, the side advantaged in the majority of war zones
picks first. (If tied, roll a die.)
20.3.2
(add to the of the paragraph) Should there be a conflict over the purchase of Action
cards, the player with the fewest "Points Banked" chooses his Action cards
first, the player with the second least chooses next, and so on.
21
(add to the end of the General Rule) All four turns of a Mission must be resolved, even if
one fleet is eliminated.
21.2.3
(add) Important: Players do not score points for the ships in their fleet
that survive a mission!
21.2.4
Important Note: A player may not score more points from ships left "In
Port" than he scored for the Mission.
Example: A player scored 25 Mission Points, and 13 additional points for sinking enemy ships. Even though he placed 56 points of ships "In Port" at the start of the Mission, he will only receive 38 (25 + 13) of them. The remaining 18 points are lost.
Clarification: "Final" Mission Points are the sum of Mission Points and points for sinking ships. Final Mission Points are the only ones that influence movement of the War Zone Status Marker not points scored for ships left in port!
22
(to the right of the Military Non-Combatant card) Remove: "Hits to Sink"
23.5
The "Early Warning System" (EWS) card: This card may be played in
response to a "Surprise Attack" card.
When played as a Point Defense: This card negates one Surprise Attack. This card also provides one die roll to stop one incoming attack. EWS may be used to negate the Surprise option of one attack and apply its die roll against a different attack.
When played as an Area Defense: All surprise cards used against your fleet are negated. One die roll is also provided to stop every attack declared against your fleet.
24.1.6
(add this new section, reading:) Players only score Points for: 1) sinking enemy ships, 2)
fulfilling Mission Objectives, and 3) Refitting ships in Port (but see the errata for
21.2.4). Players do not score Points for ships that survive missions.
24
Sea Superiority vs. Sea Superiority: If both players sink the same Point Value of enemy
ships, the Pool Points are split evenly.
Carrier Strike vs. Engagement, The Engage Mission Player: (add to the end of the paragraph) "and Retreat Restrictions are as indicated. Land Targets are not protected by Retreat cards."
Submarine Strike vs. Engagement, The Engage Mission Player: (add to the end of the paragraph) "and Retreat Restrictions are as indicated. Land Targets are not protected by Retreat cards."
If you play with the LPH (from MNB III), it does not count as a non-combatant for mission purposes if crippled.
29.2.I
(the first option for a Port Strike) This rule currently reads: "...spent or banked
during the next step); or"
It should read: "...spent or banked during the next step). Action cards may not be played to modify the attack rolls or their outcome. Large ships are sunk when hit during a Port Strike, they do not become Crippled. Or,"
30
Pile #2 includes all cruiser types (e.g., CA). Pile #3 includes all submarine
types (e.g., SSGN, SS).
